Domingo Germán’s gem of a game was ruined by the Guardian rally in the 9th inning.

What a horrendous time to be a New York Yankee fan. Just when you think it can’t get any worse, rock bottom has a basement. The Yanks are in last place. 15 wins & 15 losses. The chance of getting divorced is 50% chance, and so are the odds of the Yankees winning. Go figure. It seems fitting as you scroll through Twitter and find tweets like “Am I really subjecting myself to this torture by watching another game tonight?”

Why Aaron Boone chose to get German out of the game when he almost saved us from ending our losing streak, I’ll never know.

The crowd went wild for him, as he walked off the mound in true Bronx fashion. That’s enough to make you tear up a bit.

There was a glimmer of victory and then disaster struck. The Guardians rallied together and came back swinging (literally). Bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th and Holmes blew it. But not only did he give up a pitch to let the Guardians score, the infield played like they were back in the little league. Throwing a pitch to home plate to keep them from scouring and it goes past the catcher. What a disaster.

We are only a month in, but time is kicking. Can they really come out of their slump and get out of LAST PLACE? I’m afraid to even watch, but in true Yankee fan fashion, I have no choice but to watch helplessly as I pray this train gets back on the tracks.
